Orchestrate AI agents. Retain absolute control.

Baton is the sovereign work ledger for autonomous agents. One central, local-first database shared across your entire machine fleet. Dispatch goals to agents on any machine and keep an append-only audit trail of everything they do. Your data never leaves your hardware.

Sovereign Data Residency

Your data never leaves the fleet

No central cloud servers. No third-party accounts. Nodes sync peer-to-peer over a secure SSH wire. Process sensitive documents locally on your own hardware, in compliance with regional data-residency law.

Containment by Design

Agents cannot go off-rails

Don't rely on prompt engineering for safety. Baton restricts agents to specific verbs and workflows. If an action isn't in the job profile, the capability is absent. Denied by construction, not by compliance.

Append-Only Audit Ledger

Provability is the product

Every keystroke, screen read and execution is logged live to a local SQLite ledger. The actor field is read from the OS kernel: the exact AI engine, shell and PID, never anything the agent can set. What was done can always be proven.

Unified Work Queue

One state for humans and AI

Goals with acceptance criteria, filed from anywhere and claimed under a cross-node mutex. Human operators and Qwen and Claude CLI agents pull from the exact same queue. Nothing falls between chairs.

The delegation split: cloud brains, local hands

The delegation split is a tier model applied to inference cost. A cloud model does the orchestration and the thinking; the mechanical work is dispatched to machines you control, like an Apple Silicon Mac acting as the fleet's secure coprocessor. Sensitive documents are read and understood on your own hardware, never shipped to a cloud API.

Human-in-the-loop for irreversible acts

Filling out a form is recoverable. Submitting a legal document is not. Baton enforces tier-based approvals: when an agent reaches a critical threshold, it parks the action, exits the loop, and waits for a human operator's biometric consent (Touch ID or Windows Hello) before proceeding. The gate is before the act; the ledger proves what happened after.

Security you can check

  • Visible execution. While an agent drives a desktop, a breathing presence indicator stays on screen. You always know when a machine is being operated.
  • Signed updates. Updates install from a published catalog, and every download is cryptographically proven to originate from Quantum Encoding before a single byte is unpacked.
  • Consent by construction. Remote pairing demands informed, written consent. Sleep mode shuts every door in code, not just by promise.
